I received a notification of this in the mail over the weekend and the email below today. Too bad...I felt that the show this year was better than the past few years. I far as I was concerned the show was not well managed. Poor advertising, ankle deep grass, and too early/late in the year to where weather was a factor was a couple of my issues.

I just want to thank everyone that came by my both over the past years. The only place I'll probably set up now will be the MTFCA swap meet in June.

Email:
"From all of us at the Hoosier Auto Show and Swap Meet, we would like to thank you for being an important part of our 48th year and to congratulate the 2014 Fall Car Show winners!

You have probably already received a letter in the mailbox from us by now, but if not, as we look towards the new year we regretfully inform you that we must close operations effective at the end of 2014. These circumstances exist because of a steady change in the direction of our hobby.

Attendance at the Hoosier Auto Show activities has dwindled to the point that it is no longer financially possible to continue holding our events.

One of our enduring goals, accomplished outside of the car show and swap meet venue, is the publication of a definitive history of Indiana built automobiles. A hardback copy of this book, “Indiana Cars”, was donated to every Junior and Senior High School and University in the State of Indiana. Additionally, the paperback second edition of this book will remain in publication and be available on Amazon and at several locations in the state.

The board of the Hoosier Auto Show & Swap Meet sincerely thanks all of you who have helped make a great venture continue for forty eight years. We hope to see you all down the road.

Sincerely,

The Hoosier Auto Show and Swap Meet"

And it is spreading...

Here in Southern NH, there is an interesting "once a month" flea market/auto show, where all sorts of things trade hands...beginning before sunrise on the appointed day. (Amherst)

It was recently announced that the owner/operator of the land and event recently passed, and the heirs are not certain what the future holds for the land and thus the event.
Another sad situation in the making...

Ben, make sure you come to the all Model T swap meet at Richmond Saturday June 6th. See the section titled Homecoming on the MTFCA home page for more information.

The Amherst, NH flea market & show was a favorite of ours. If you got there at 10:00am half the show cars were already leaving. To show, a crowd was gathering by 5:30!!
