Sometime next week I have to install a TW Timer for a friend. Will Langs Item Number: 3170 work for the adjustment? It's there timer tool.
Will, I have two TW timers, and don't use that tool.
I use the so-called method of turning the crank so the crank pin is just past the 3 o-clock mark to make the coil buzz on the #1 cylinder, etc. Works real well like that. Sometimes I had to bend the rod a bit, but usually not much from the previous setting.
Thanks Tim, I will try that
Number 1 cylinder is the one closest to the fan?
Yes
Thank you
If I purchase the timer, I'd get the timing indicator http://www.twcomponents.com/#!blank/cz23to go with it. Correctly adjusted timing makes a difference. For some reason in the preview pane the full link doesn't appear correctly. When you go to the TW page, select "Products".
