I was in Tenino yesterday.
Amazing photo ! Very early neon glares out much of the back wall detail. Note the open rafters and wall framing, the
suspended fan, the overall "barn like" atmosphere. It is awesome ! Wish I could tell what Western Electric was pitching.
Can you imagine a trade show being held today in a place like this ? Our world has become to plastic and sterile. :-P
Hey,....Yeah! That's our "neck 'o the woods" Bob! Maybe Floyd V. or Jim T. might know something about "the yellow pump, huh? Now if that banner said "look out for the yellow snow", we'd get a bit more "meaning" out of it!
In looking closer, I see a banner on the far wall that is just a bit too fuzzy to make out, but I would swear that on the left hand side of it, there appears to be a Union Pacific Railroad (first transcontinental railroad) shield on it. Other patriotic items like the portraits of Washington and Lincoln though, so, who knows,..??? Sure would be nice to know just where that building is (or was) and what the automobile event was.
Great picture Jay, lots to look at. Thanks for posting it and for all the many others you post too. Joe
