Model T Ford Forum: Forum 2014: MTFCA site slow on Ipad

I didn't want to add into the MTFCI thread, but since I "upgraded" my IPad2 to 8.0, it takes over 30 seconds to change pages, go backwards, or do anything. After receiving numerous requests to update from Apple, I made the mistake of doing so. I've since gone through the 2 newer recommended updates to 8.0.2. Most other functions aren't a problem, but for some reason, this website doesn't work well at all. Unfortunately, I cannot re-load 7.0 or any other operating system. Apple basically trashed my Ipad2 with their "recommended update". Are any others having the same problem, or is their a fix?
I have to admit I'm not very computer savy, choosing to learn medicine and mechanics over that. :-)

I've just recently "upgraded" my iPhone to the 8.0 system, and it seems slow uploading any website and email.

I'm still dragging my feet on doing the same on the iPad. After reading this thread I don't think I will.

Noel

Lots of folks are having hebe gebe with the 8.x.x. It doesn't like Face time all that we'll either.

Best bet for now is double tap the home button and close out anything you are not using by sweeping it off the screen

MTFCI is extremely slow on an iOS system anyway

One of my cousins is an Apple computer specialist. I sent him a link to this and asked if he had any suggestions. Here's his reply. I'm NOT a computer whiz, so don't ask me how to apply it. Perhaps a call to the Apple store can help you sort things out.

It's either the speed of the server hosting the website or the speed of the network the iPad is on. I'd start testing the speed of the iPad's network as the user can more easily do that AND have some control over it.

I too updated my operating systems and find the speed to access this site via my iPad or iPhone is FAR slower than when I use my desktop. Moreover, this is the only where I am noticing the super slow access.

It seem that it is a universal problem, my Ipad is now slower since upgrading. The Iphone is still the older ios version and no problems. The new ios 8 added apps that I don't want and cannot remove. Apple is getting as bad as Microsoft for stuffups.

I have the latest upgrade on my iPad. In fact a new one came through last night. If my home wifi is running ok, my iPad does fine.

Forum runs at reasonable speed today on an iPad 2 mini running iOS 8.1.1 and Safari (with test sample size of only 1). Latest iOS is 8.1.2.

My iPad 1 with 5.1.1 - their last final update for this old model - is running the site very fast with no problems. My guess with my old tech experence is apple "the new Microsoft" is trying to force your equipment outdated to get you to buy their new stuff.

That business model is what drove me away from Microsoft and into apples arms, and now is driving me away from apple...

Thanks everyone. now I know it's not just me. I don't think I'll buy another Apple product. If this is the way Apple works, this doctor is staying away for more than a day!
