Well I am officially just a year away from being a senior citizen ...
Never thought I would last this long but I am grateful for good health & good friends ...
Anyone else have a birthday today ?
Freighter Jim
Happy Birthday Jim.
I always enjoy seeing the photos of the cars you come across.
Your profile photo car is one on my to-own list although it is not practical for Sydney.
Have a great day!
Andrew
My youngest grandson is 1 year old today!
Other birthdays today include Mackenzie King, Pope Francis, and George "Goober" Lindsey.
I'm about eight years and two months away from being a senior citizen. Next year at this time, I will be nine years and two months away. A year after that, I will be ten years and two months away..... What's wrong with this picture?
What's a senior citizen?
I don't intend to ever become one. I will remain an old man.
I do. And so do my 10 year old twin Grandsons. And the Pope for that matter. 63 years for me.
Dang it. The older I get the faster I get older. Seems like just last month I was 75. Oh yeah, I were.
I am in Sioux Falls, SD celebrating with a free Grand Slam at Denny's ....
55 is senior citizen ...
I feel like I am 12 though and I act like I am 16 most days ....
Freighter Jim
My Mom is 87 today! Happy Birthday to you, Jim.
Happy Birthday
What exactly is the official age to be a senior citizen, is it the age you are eligible to join AARP? If so we have all been senior for a long time is it when your bank gives you free checks? (who uses them anymore?) Is it 65 when your are either forced to go on Medi-Care unless you can defer? I am so confused!
In our family December is a grand slam (and then some) month. My oldest grandson was 18 on 12/12, my youngest grandson is 1 today, my oldest son will be 39 on Friday, my youngest son will be 32 on 12/22, and I turn 67 on 12/27.
Of course 12/25 is also a day of note.
Whew!!!
Happy Birthday Jim!
Be safe driving today out there amongst the English!

Happy Birthday Jim.
I wasn't sure how old you had to be to be a "senior citizen".
Now all I can say is welcome to our "Group"!
You are no longer a "dirty old man". You are now a "Sexy senior citizen"!
I asked my wife, who is two years younger than me, what a senior citizen was and she gave me a clear answer.
It is anyone my age and above!
Remember, you are only as old as you feel. I am 70, look like 80, and if you let me get next to a 21 year old red head, I am 21 again.
John
I'm only a senior when I look in the mirror!
Norm
Henry.....I know what you mean! Don't get me started!
We have 4 sons, 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a 9th due in March!
Most any day, I can honestly say that we probably have either one whose birthday it is, or one who just had a birthday, or one who's got a birthday coming up in a day or two!
As you say Henry,....."whew!"
Good for you Jim! Have a great day!
Steve Jelf said something in another post,......something to the effect that "when you get old enough, everything tends to remind you of something else". The last sentence in your post in this thread Henry, reminded me of something else!
Years ago, my first grandson who is now in his mid 20's and has a family of his own, told me something when he was just a little guy of about 4 or maybe 5 years old, and it's something that I have never forgotten, and probably never will:
I asked him if he actually knew what Christmas really was and why we celebrate it as we do. Expecting of course, an answer from such a little guy that would probably have to do with such things as Christmas Trees, Santa Claus and such......
His instant answer with a big smile was,........"Sure Grandpa! It's a birthday party for Jesus!"
Of all the church sermons and such that I've ever heard in my 73 years,.....nobody ever said it any better!
Happy Birthday Jim! You just missed Ludwig Van Beethoven's birthday, Baptized December 17, believed born on the 16th.
Drive carefully, and do enjoy your special day! W2
HB Jim, may you have many miles still ahead of you.
Happy Birthday Jim, I'll be 62 saturday. I never thought I would see 50 but, HERE I AM.
Happy Birthday Jim,,,,Many Happy more
In honor of my birthday ....
We have " normalized " relations with Cuba ....
That was the REAL reason ...
Got it firsthand from His Eminence The Pope ....

Happy Birthday Jim, As far as being a senior citizen were all just young people trapped in aging bodies.
Happy Birthday Jim, We signed my wife up yesterday for S.S. her birthday is tomorrow but I won't mention her age as I want to see our 45th wedding anniversary. I'm only 15 and won't turn 16 until 2/29/2016.
At some point I went from senior citizen to elderly,as I turned 74, 2 weeks ago. My Mother is 93 and still lives alone and takes care of herself, i do check on her every day. Her memory and mental sharpness is probably better than mine.
I mentioned to my 94 year old dad that I'll turn 67 a week from Saturday. All he had to say was, "Crap!"
I will be 72 about ten days from now. Don't feel a day older than I did when I was 70. I am though, thinking about settling down and starting a family.
Stan!
Good for you. And I mean that.
Hey Jim
Keep up your good work. I know if I ever get another Model T it will be moved by you...
I live by two rules regarding AGE :
1. You never used to be older.
2. The older I get, the older OLD is.

A Senior Citizen.
Well done, Freighter Jim:
A couple of years ago I got a B'day card from my son. You ain't old, you were old 10 years ago.
Last Tuesday I took my drivers test from Governor Moonbeam's DMV in preparation for my 86th B'day next Tuesday the 23rd. Passed with a perfect written and corrected 20/ 20 vision in both eyes. I am truly blessed with the health I have.
Merry Christmas and a safe New Years to you all
Sincerely
Jim Weir
Thank You All ...
I have had a great week with relatively warm weather and clear roads ....
I will be in Oregon & be able to see my Mom
for Christmas near Eugene ...
Then I get to go to Blaine, WA and pick up the dream car of my good friend Jerry in Oakridge, OR ....
An original 36' Ford Coupe ....
A great end to a great year !
Who could ask for anything more ?
