Only 90 days away:
Hummm,,,I just wonder how long it would take me to get there from Montrose CO......?? You've got me thinking.....
My rough guess is about 650 to 700 miles. Some folks come from a lot farther away than Montrose.
It took us 3 days driving from Washington State a couple years ago.
I am looking forward to another Chickasha swap meet. I hear some major changes are taking place, but I do not know enough to know if they are good or bad. I think it will effect parking before the gates open???
PS. Lots of people show up there. I have even seen an old white bearded man with glasses and overalls there. They let anybody in.
I've seen that guy too. He does seem to get around.
Yeah,.....I think he's the night shift security guy!
Steve. Your first photo. The white 86 Dodge truck in front of the blue van is my truck. We were loading up to go home. See ya there in 90 days ,,, Im ready ... Willie, I talked to Susie Ersland a few weeks ago. She said there are no changes planned as to the way we had been doing it. The only problem may be parking. The Fairgrounds Association is building a new Rodeo arena. The area we line up in on Wednesday is now the lay-down yard for a construction site full of cranes, equipment, and materials. She hopes that all will be gone by the swap meet but if not, parking may be an issue. She will be able to give a better idea of how we will park, in Feb. when she sends out the stickers to the vendors.
I guess it's high time for me to decide whether I'm going or if I should save my vacation days for the OCF. I really love going to Chickasha and I've got a bunch of T parts to dispose of, but I've never been to the OCF.
My, what extinguished...er...distinguished-looking gentlemen.
What we really need is a mini Hershey near the MFTCA headquarters / Museum and then a later one at the MFTCI in their area of IL. At least one should be in early summer.
Someone put some names to the faces above. I know four of them... but the others .??
John, The Homecoming in Richmond is June 4,5,6 this year. We have tours Thursday and Friday with a swap meet on Saturday. We're trying.
I'm on the left in the top picture with George House and Terry Woods. In the bottom picture Terry is on the left and Mike Bender is in the center. I'm having a senior moment on the other names. Maybe somebody with his wits about him can ID the others.
