I've been out rummaging on the farm, trying to find an appropriate piece of glass to replace my broken upper windshield in my '25 TT. I don't want safety glass as all the other glass is original and the T doesn't leave the farm.
While looking for a match, I came across this windshield from the teens, I believe. Would any of you sharp eyed guys be able to tell from these pictures what car this came from. I can tell you I've found the remnants of many dodge brothers cars around the farm...headlights, gauges, wrecks in the gulleys, but I've also found parts of Essex, Cadillac, and Paige cars.
Measurements on this are 12 13/16 deep and 41 3/16 wide. The 2 holes on the sides are exactly 4 and 5 inches from the flat side. I believe it has black original paint.
Farm or no farm, safety glass is a good idea. On our farm things can get exciting from time to time with cows , armadillo burrows, and other surprises.
Is it brass? It looks like it might be. The glass retaining strip makes me think it is relatively high quality. The high hinge screw holes make me think circa-1911 Maxwell.
Ryan G,
Paige? I have a Paige. So does Chris P. Mine is 1927, Chris' is 1911. Don't run into a lot of Paige stuff.
Unfortunately, I don't know what your windshield frame is from.
Good luck!
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
