I would like to make an accurate mark or place a stop on the quadrant that corresponds to 35 and 40 degrees BTDC. What would the piston position be in thousandths? Set the piston, bring the lever down till I get a buzz.

The test is that .093 ATDC is the retard setting for the timer and it falls between 15 and 16 degrees.
