I can't seem to find a good thread on rebuilding the rear end. I want to send the link to a friend that is new to Model T's. I've tried to get the point across, the importance of the thrust plates but need some help. He seems reluctant to get in to it. Thanks for your help!
This one is pretty good:
Also, see this from Steve Jelf:
Steve, I vaguely recall that you said you were documenting the recent rebuild of the rear axle in your 1915 runabout, is that documentation available somewhere?
One more link to some great Steve Jelf rear axle videos:
A rear axle rebuild would be a great next project for Mike Bender and friends to document on their "T Tips" website (hint, hint)
I did shoot some video on that last one, but I didn't end up with much that I thought was good enough. Maybe next time.
I had forgotten about the two rear axle videos in that last link. About a year ago Youtube kept pestering everybody to use two names, not just one. I tried just inserting a space in the screen name I was using, and somehow ended up with my old channel and a new "spare" channel. Now I'm afraid that if I delete the new one the old one will go too. At least I've figured out how to post any new videos on the old channel and avoid the new one. I'll see if I can take the few that are on the new channel and repost them on the old one.
Thank you fellas, one of those threads should convince him...
