At Hershey last year, i bought a jack on the advice of the vendor who told me it was the correct jack for the 26-27 Model T. My question is: is this the correct jack? I was told the 26-27 T did not use the "screw type" jack of previous, but a stamped steel / ratchet type jack, which was also used beyond '27 and with follow-on Ford models. Hopefully my picture upload of the type jack I purchased won't fail me.

This earlier post shows the type jacks with the Improved car.

The '26-'27 jack has the flip top, without a hole in the flip part.

The '25 jack is similar but without the flip top.

The flip part is used for the rear axle to give more height, the flip is flopped over for the front axle height.

Even if I get an improved car, I'm sticking with the old screw jack. It works very well.

Thanks, Guys. Very helpful. Both posts explain what I was looking for. It looks like I have a '25 Jack (for my '27 Tudor). I'll know what to look for now. Yeah, the screw jack looks hard to argue with.

Yes, the screw jack is fine and good.
But the later jack, 'laminated' from steel pressings is extremely ingenious.
Not only does it work well, but it's nice to have something clever and unusual

Dan: Where did you find the documentation on the flip top jack? I've never been able to find a thing. It makes total sense though, because if you use a 10" jack, it won't fit under the car if you have a flat tire, especially if you have 21" wheels.

Dan, what year is the flip top with the hole.

Thanks

Herm.

There is 26/27 jack on EBay right now. Can't post a link from my phone. Or perhaps I should say I don't know how to post a link. :-(

Herm

The jack with the flip top containing the hole is 1928 Model A.

Here are photos of the Model A jacks at this site:
