Brakes were made by Chicago Transmission Company to go along with their accessory Ford trans.
Note the copy line at the end of the paragraph on the left.
They do look a lot like AC's. With the band anchor at the rear, they should work the same in forward and reverse.

My Mark E has been a tough well designed unit BUT without syncros is dangerous if it comes out of gear you have no brakes WITHOUT brakes like the ones posted above. Wonder what year they were made?
The adv. for Chicago Mark E trans began in 1924.
May have been on the market a bit earlier, but can't find adv. to support earlier date.
