On my way to the winter tour in Gainsville a while back, we got caught in the mess around Lexington, Ky. We were not able to clean off the crud until we got home. Now the safety chains, lug nuts and much of the door latch hardware looks awful. Any ideas what I can do to improve it? It looks like the road chemicals ate the plating.
sometimes rubbing things down with navel jelly helps.
Tim. What's Navel Jelly? Where do you get it?
I'm not Tim,

Most any hardware store - "big box" store or auto parts stores has it.
Do be careful - contains acid...
Good Luck !
Naval . . .
. . . not navel
Naval jelly followed by navel lint - a new brass polish?
