Put an old valve into the shaft for your puller to push against.

As usual I will be the "rogue ".
WHY do you wish to take the rest apart?
Do you have crack drums?
I have found that the only bushings that truly need replacing are the three that run on the main shaft
The other thing is the triple gear pins.
Rarely do the first and reverse bushings need replacing
And often the old triple gear bushings fit nicely on new pins
And considering the trouble people have had with the new triple gear bushings I like to avoid trouble

John, I've never had a problem removing with a 2 jaw, I just ran some wire around the legs to be my 3rd hand and sit a socket on the shaft.
