About 2 1/2 years ago fellow forum poster John McGinnis and I made electronic contact. To make a long story short, it turns out that in addition to being a T guy John:

1. Went to the same high school as did I.

2. Knows my 6th grade teacher.

3. Owns and resides on land once owned by a longtime family friend going back 4 generations and adjacent to land where my grandfather built his last home.

4. Knows descendants of people my family has know going back over 100 years.

So, last week I took my nearly 95 year old dad, my sister-in-law, and my nephew (they lived for 10 years in the house built by my grandfather), and we drove up and visited John.

What a great time we had! John not only opened his home to us, he also showed us his T's (both running and projects), his museum, and a 1927 Cletrac that I rode on the fender of when I was 5 or 6 years old, which he acquired from the son of a very close and old friend of my grandfather.

Thank you John for a wonderful and memorable walk though stories of times long past. My dad won't quit talking about what a great time he had.

And thank you to this forum, without which the initial connection would have never been made.

What an incredible amount of coincidences. That's really cool!

Thank you Henry for your interesting and kind words. There certainly is more to our *forum* story that led to our eventual connection, but it gets too complicated.
For what it is worth, I have made other interesting connections through the forum...and thanks to all who give their names and locations....and something about themselves.
Thanks again Henry.
