could someone furnish me with a picture of the radius ball socket on a late one piece pan? this would be without the rivet ears on the socket. i have a repop one piece pan that i need to correct a couple of things on. namely the radius socket and petcock bosses. many thanks

i have seen those, and yes the one i would like to see is not very clear. i am trying to see if i can modify the riveted socket casting on my pan to look like the earlier non-riveted one.

in marks narrative in richard's referenced link, he indicates that the riveted socket appeared in the 2 pc pan, but shows a 1pc pan with a riveted socket.
i'm so confused. maybe i do not have to modify my riveted socket.

If yours is a repop, it is the correct width for the wide 1911 style one piece pan. You're OK with the rivets. My mid year 1910 with a correct narrow pan doesn't have rivets.
