I think I have made this request before, but I will make it again. If you want to get in touch with Fred Smith, or you have a question about Fred Smith, and Fred Smith is fairly widely known in the Model T community, please... please... make your subject line a little more explanatory than just "Fred Smith." For example, "Looking for Fred Smith," or "Need Fred Smith's e-mail address," or "Has anyone talked to Fred Smith lately?" When I see just a name as a subject, it has too often in the past been a death notice and posts like that make me nervous about the guy. Please, type a couple of more words and save many of us a moment of concern. :-)

Anything beyond a solemn evocation of a name without explanation is fine. I am at an age where too many contemporaries are dying, and I don't need to think that there is another one, only to find out that someone wants his phone number.... :-)

In the military, we referred to this as a "POC", or "point of contact", when looking for
how to get in touch with someone.

Perhaps a thread header such as "Need POC for Fred Smith" would be a good solution ?
Clear and concise .... direct and to the point.

Of course, we all know the saying, .... You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make
him fish ! Give people the best possible tools for the job, and they still use their fingers.

What's that other saying ? Buy 'em books and send 'em to school, and they still want
to eat the books ! :-)

Well, Dick, it looks like your request lasted for a little over an hour.

I did a People Finder on Fred Smith and learned that there are over 80 of them in the US. If I look for Fred T, Fred S, Fred C, etc. the number rises considerably.
Fred W gives me numerous references to Fed EX and if I change the search to Frederick Smith or Fredrick Smith it gets worse.

Dick - please be more specific about which Fred Smith almost gave you a heart attack, because I'm sure that one died in the past few months.
