I have a 1916 speedster. It has a 20's steering column with the horn conduit underneath. I would like to get a brass spider and wood steering wheel. My question is: are the steering shafts the same on all years?

A brass spider would fit a 20's shaft. Earlier columns varied in length, but a '16 column would be the same length as a '24, I think. 1925-27 were different not in length or diameter but in ratio, 5:1 instead of 4:1 earlier. The frame bracket is also different on '26/'27 columns - it wouldn't fit right in a '16 since the columns were lowered in 26/27.

Yes the brass wheel will fit on your 20 setup.
