Looks like a small Kalamazoo railcar with a Model T engine shoehorned into it. Neat stuff! Usually these had a small one or two cylinder gas engine in them, oftentimes 2 cycle and belt driven. This one is sort-of a "hot rod".
Interesting, David D. Nice to have someone here that can recognize and identify some of these things. Thank you. I have heard of the Kalamazoo rail cars. But would not know one from sight.
My dad used to tell a few stories of one of those rail cars with the two cycle motor. The gearing worked the same forward or reverse. To change direction, the car had to be stopped, the engine stopped, and restarted backwards. The engine would run either direction.
Neat stuff! Thank you Jay and David!
