Are you really sure you've got a good flow of gas?
Here's a long thread about problems with sudden stops and hard starting that ended with a new tank to finally get rid of the problem: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/506218/561388.html?1441202872

If the flow really is OK and the gas cap vent isn't plugged, then it might be some other problem.. is it getting hot? How long do you have to wait until you can get it started again?

All T's with std clutch has a tendency to creep when the oil is cold. If it's out of adjustment you may get a better neutral with some checking like in this article:

If it runs for five minutes and then quits it has a gas flow problem. Been there done that got the T shirt. Time to clean or replace the gas tank, make sure the only filter is the sweet potato under the tank, and make sure it is clean.

The carb float may also need to be adjusted to raise the fuel level in the bowl, but either way I agree the cutting out is fuel related and the drag is free neutral related.
