For 1911 Ford used bolts to attach the front radius rod cap to the crankcase. We are working on a 1911 and the original bolts are not on the car. We have not found a source for new bolts. Does someone have an original bolt would be willing to measure and give us the dimensions? We can machine new bolts.

Or does someone have an original pair they would sell?
Alan

Alan,

They are the same as the 4th main bolts with the drilled heads. The heads are taller than later T bolts. You can get a pretty fair likeness from http://www.restorationstuff.com but you have to drill the heads.

Royce is correct. The bolt is part number 2729 and is a 3/8" x 24 tpi steel hex head cap screw. It is 1-3/16" long, measuring from under the head, which is drilled for a safety wire.
