I have a parts list dated July 1, 1927 and it lists part numbers 2118 and 2119 used in 1924 to 1927 years. They are crankcase flange reinforcements right and left.
A club member says his 1926 vehicle did not have them. Were they standard equipment on all 1924 through 1927 vehicles? Also the bolts need to be longer (is 1 1/8 inch between bottom of bolt head and center of cotter pin hole the correct length bolt?.) in the area of the reinforcement attachments?
Yes and yes! The original length bolts might still work but I don't think the bolt goes all the way through the nut with a lock washer. By time the corner braces came out Ford stopped using cotter pins in the crankcase bolts and used lock washers. (1924 or 1925)
