I believe my 1917 Maxwell uses the same speedometer setup as a Model T. I have a Stewart head dated 1917 and the large gear mounted to the front wheel. The drive unit that attaches to the front spindle is loose and needs rebuilding if possible or replacement. I've been asked by a new owner of a 1916 Maxwell where he could get the same parts, chain, cable casing and drive unit. Can you fellows tell me what would be an average cost and where or who to check for the best chance of finding what we need?

I would recommend this fellow. We have shared a space at Hershey with him in years past. I think he is about the most reasonable priced, knowledgeable person you will find.

Russ Furstnow wrote the book (literally) on Model T era speedometers. He will know.

Russ or Bill are both knowledgeable. Bill has rebuilt a couple for me.
