On our local news station:
Dec 1, 1913 Henry Ford installed the first moving assembly line to mass produce cars, to put together an entire automobile on the assembly line that reduced the time it took to build a car from more than 12 hours to 2 1/2 hours.

Another note for this is Webster Mfg. supplied the chain that hauls the car down the line, it is called CC5 and still sells to Ford motor company that chain to this day.
