Maybe this isn't off-topic?
Just returned from a trip to Southern California to pick up a 'new' engine for my wife's modern car (02 Honda accord) and on the way stopped at Larry Smith's and picked up some of his new exhaust pipes, which, BTW, are beautiful! I'll post some pics later under a specific thread. Had a great visit, player pianos, and some other shared interests and a garage tour, of course. Gave us good directions for our next stop and pushed us out just in time to miss MOST of the "rush hour" traffic. I think all time there is now "rush hour" but that's another issue!
Our next stop was at Les Van Nordheim's to pick up the 'new' engine. Great shop/garage tour and a short tour in his '13 touring. More on that later! Both visits will require return trips with more time available!! He also shoved us out the door in time to avoid the bad traffic & gave us a "short-cut" that actually worked!
I have met more wonderful people on this forum than almost anywhere else. There is/was one other car club that was a filled with great folks as this that I've belonged to, and that was the Metropolitan Owner's Club--this was pre-internet. I guess there were so few of us that we had to band together. In some ways I wish I still had my Met, but hat was decades ago, and the car is long-gone! Too bad, can't tool around town and sing the "Beep-Beep" song any more (Google it, if ya don't know it).
I'll post some other threads about the visits later--when I can poke so fun at these great folks! Heh, Heh, Heh!
