I have been looking for tours for the past few years around my area. There is an MTFCI (I'm not a member)on 7/17 and a HCCA on the same week. One in finger lakes, and one in Canada. Both sound great, however we have a wedding that week and can't attend either. I'm reading of a speedster meet in Kentucky, but that's 1000 miles each way to attend. My question is, are there plans for another national, or regional tour around here in the near future? Are there ever speedster tours around here? I've haven't seen one or heard of one locally, but have heard of course of midwest, california, North west speedsters etc. Any body know of anything or would possibly be inspired enough to get a committee together for a regional tour for all T's or a speedster gathering?

My advice is to reschedule the wedding. :-)

Mike - I laughed out loud when I read your post (spraying the soda I was drinking at the time all over the screen of my computer and almost choking in the process). Thank you for a much-needed chuckle.

Matt, The MTFCA has not had any Chapters in your part of the country step forward and volunteer to host a tour. It would be great if we could have a tour in your area. If you are a member of a local chapter I suggest that you bring the subject up with your fellow members. Feel free to contact me if you have questions about hosting a tour.

Since you expressed interest in the Canadian HCCA tour, I presume your T is a pre-1916. If so, you might be interested in the week-long Snappers tour in Ithaca, NY the following week.

Snappers is a non-geographical brass-era touring region of AACA. It puts on several tours a year. I'm planning on going to both the Canadian tour and the Snappers tour.

Matt, What Mike Vaughn says above that a Chapter or someone has to step up and volunteer to host a tour is correct. Do you belong to an MTFCA Chapter, and could you get that Chapter to do a tour?

Besides a National Tour, there are several regional tours put on by various club chapters and some just put on by smaller groups of individuals. The Mainly T Tour is an example & they put it on every year.

Check around and I wouldn't be surprised if you do find a tour in your area.

Keith
