Just got back from visiting my twin brother in Sun City and then driving over CA 74 on my way to Tucson, AZ to visit my daughter and grand-kids. Had a wonderful time traveling CA 74 between Hemet and Palm Desert. I would love to drive it in one of my Ts!

Happy motoring and Merry Christmas,

Warren,

If you have a twin brother then how do we know it's really you that's back?

Looks like the back road from Idlewild into Palm Springs.

Dennis, great question: you don't!
Larry, you are correct, have you ever driven CA 74 in your Model T. The road would be a great T road, but CHiPs has it posted at 55mph and those cars with California plates seem to want to do the speed limit even in the hills! I was driving a brand new Nissan Versa (rental car) and was not comfortable driving any faster than 40-45mphs.

Happy motoring and Merry Christmas,

Warren

I was pre-running the Joshua Tree tour a couple of years ago in the VW Jetta and we had early dinner in Palm Springs. The quickest way back to Ramona was over Hwy 74. I agree the speed limit is 55mph but most of the vehicles run 55 as the MINIMUM speed. I pulled over three times but instantly got another overpowered SUV on my tail with flashing head lights. Very unpleasant and certainly not advisable in a Model T....

Yes Tony, I agree! To bad though as it would be a great ride in a Model T, not sure how the brakes would hold out coming into Palm Desert (with the 10 mile downgrade).

Merry Christmas,

Warren
