I received this tool from an eldery lady who told me it was an ignition wrench for a model T. I don't own a model T so have no idea if this is true or not. It has the letters ABMC stamped on the handle and is about 3-1/8 inches long. Any ideas?
James,
I wonder if the wrench was made by the American Bicycle Manufacturing Company?
Tom
I would guess it to be a magneto wrench. On the end of the wrench, the swiveling part looks to be a feeler gauge with the middle part being a screwdriver.
At just over 3" long, I doubt it's mag wrench. There were a lot of these sold or given away with point sets. The ones I have are for the Model A but are similar to that pictured. Most were just a small wrench with a feeler gauge attached with a rivet. That one is unusual because it's double ended and includes a screw driver. It's probably Model A period vintage. Could be for a motorcycle of the same era. Nice find.
It's a typical/common ignition wrench. It is not for a Model T Ford.
"AMBC" stands for "American Bosch Magneto Corporation."
I have a wrench that is nearly identical to the one pictured except it says "Bosch."

Correction - I transposed the letters in my previous post: "ABMC" stands for "American Bosch Magneto Corporation."
