So I found out the hard way that the throttle shaft for Right Hand Drive and Left Hand Drive NH Carbs is different. Is the shaft available by itself? Or do you have to buy it with the LHD arm already peened onto it?

If the shaft is not available, what is the fix for a RHD carb with a worn shaft? Thanks.

Hi Nevin
Yep,the throttle arm is pretty easy to swap over, I have just done one on the tudor. I'm around home the next couple of days if you want a hand to do it. Just bring the old shaft with arm attached

Cheers
Glen

I just made a linkage for a LHD NH on a RHD car so the owner can drive it. What does the correct set up look like?

Each of my RHD's both running NH are slightly different, Speedster goes thru the top on both ends, Depot hack top on carby and from the bottom on the shaft.

Nevin, are you sure the shaft is different? There are flat spots where the linkage arm fits. These may be machined with a different orientation to the plate slot. Otherwise, the throttle arms are usually where the major difference occurs. The LHD arm comes off at a different angle to RHD cars.
My two Stromberg OFs have a separate brass arm to link up on RHD cars. The original LHD arm remains on one. On the second one, the arm has been cut off.

Educate me.

Allan from down under.
