When you compare that photo to the usual scenes of cars buried beyond their axles in mud, it's no wonder that "Hwy 1" became the great success that it did. I bet Henry gazed at that road and imagined what "a car for the great multitude" could do.
That's the section of Woodward where the first mile of Portland cement concrete was placed in 1909.
