I started rummaging around in the New York Public Library online site, starting with Constantine's link to the NRS parts book. When I searched for "Ford", I saw a 1908 photograph labeled "First Model T Ford", I have attached the photo below.
I searched the forum a bit and did not see this photo posted before, have folks seen it before? What about the claim in the title that this is the first Model T Ford? I have seen the earlier posts showing other pictures of Model T Ford #1 that was reportedly shipped to the UK when new.
Anyway, here is the photo to spark interest and conversation. It is only 48K, I didn't see a way to download a higher resolution image.
The car pictured is no earlier than the summer of 1909. It would be considered a 1910 Model T at the time it was new.
