They were getting ready to enter the Montana 500 and didn't want anyone to see the high torque turbo engine they have hidden under the hood. The fellow in the back is repacking the parachute and the dog is trying to keep the wind out of his face.

Safety precaution. They do that every time they have the dog refill the bottle.

Bill had the motor running on the new Model T, but alas, it died. What else to do but pull the shroud over its face and wait for the junk man to take it away. Even the faithful dog had to turn away to hide its grief and sister cried with her face buried against the folded top, where she could sob and morn. In the front seat, father tried to comfort mom and then granny swore, with her fist clinched, that she would never again trust a Ford.

Maybe they are getting ready to unveil their new Livingston Radiator?! It is an interesting '14 T with fancy after-market fenders, still has gas headlamps, but a louvered hood behind the curtain.
Interesting car.
Thanks again Jay!
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2

Livingston radiator? Judging by the altitude of the shroud over the radiator filler either it is a Huppmobile radiator or the car is very excited.

They are just covering the engine to keep it warm so it starts easy next time. Looks like the blanket was a stiff one and just thrown over things.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the fenders.

Why would someone put "fancy aftermarket fenders" on a car like this ? How were these
any "fancier" than the OEM Ford fenders ? I don't really see a big styling difference without
perhaps seeing a very stock car parked next to it. Educate this neophyte. :-)

Ah, the fancy fenders allow the dog to ride outside!

Burger, those fenders make the earlier cars look more like the more "modern" ones. Dave

It looks like he has one of those Prest-O-Lite regulators on the tank. Can the photo be sharpened a little?
