I saw a 1928 Oklahoma license plate on Craigslist with an F between the 2 sets of numbers. The ad says that from 1925-1928 Oklahoma put the initial of the make of car on their plates. They were listed as Ford plates. Is this true?
Not true. People were getting a tag for a Ford and putting it on a higher priced car, so the state started putting a F-Ford T-Truck or A-Automobile. They wanted the revenue on cars and trucks.
