Does anyone have a picture of the original inside door handles for a '22 C-door? This car did not have the towel bar but the only clue it has are two vertical screw holes 3" apart. Thanks in advance.
This may have been a 1922 centerdoor with covered wood and a ratchet mechanism for the door glass: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/411944/482433.html
Thanks Roger, but their are no other screw holes on the door wood. Both doors indicate a vertical handle was mounted at one time. I'm missing both of them and would like to see just how fancy they may have been. Thx !
Don, In the original pictures I have of your car,The drivers side door shows an outline of the handle that was on there and it is like the one in the thread mentioned above. Looks like an old time window sash handle. A little later , the lower window garnish molding had a raised bump to grab to close the door. It was stamped steel. Les Sumner
here is a 23 center door
Thanks Les and Joe, i'll have to take a closer look at what I have here. So the "towel rod" must have ended before '22 sometime?
My '22 Coupe has the same pull handle on the doors. I know it's a different body style but same production year,
Many things odd down there in O-I-O aye Dennis?
Well nothing like putting a senior moment on the world wide web. I was looking at the wrong door pieces. This has two separate boards the lower board has the cutout for the door latch. Another slimmer piece fits above that one and it does show the door handle screw holes. My apologies to all, I will try to be a bit more responsible in the future...really can't guarantee though. Thanks guys.
If you have someone nearby that has "Bruce's Bible" take a look on page 294 - there is a picture of the door pull rail.
Said rail is longer than the one pictured above, and the caption states: "The door pull rail is typical 1916 through early 1922".
Thanks Dave, I will check it out.
