Both buildings survive but the T is gone except for the oil spot. 4th Street, St. Ansgar, Iowa.



The bank moved and the building on the right has a new front. No missing the arch on this one.

Looks like the building on the right was 'modernized' some time in the '50's. Very similar to Ypsilanti, MI when I was younger (born in '75). In the 80's ish era, there was an interest in bringing Ypsi back to a less modern look, so most of the buildings have been 'restored' by removing the ceramic tiles that were placed over them as an 'update'. I can't decide if that was a good or a bad thing, because now that the 50's were 60 years ago, the unique look from that era is gone now. But, to be fair, there are some really neat old buildings in Ypsi that look great as they originally were.
