Is it possible to install a starter ring gear on a 1914 flywheel or does the flywheel have to be changed in order to install the rind gear?
Thanks
Jerry

The flywheel needs to be changed unless you can machine the step for the ring gear. You may have to also change the mag ring for Bendix clearance.

Nope. Have to use later flywheel with flange for inset of ring gear. If using magneto later magnets and field coil ring needed too.

Takes a 1919 or later flywheel. I suppose a machine shop could adapt an earlier flywheel, but a switch would be easier (cheaper).

Thanks every one for your input, that's information I needed!
