How many miles can you drive with a broken crankshaft?
aac
I did a U turn on HWY1 when this broke & drove 5 miles home. Taught it was a rod. Better lucky than good!

Many years ago, a good friend of mine broke a crankshaft (about 20 miles from home) on the way to a club tour. They made arrangements to get a ride home, got his truck and trailer went back to where they had parked the T. They cranked up the car, and drove it onto the trailer. He said he wondered how far he could have driven it that day, but figured it wasn't worth risking the block to find out. So trailered home it was.
After seeing ones like this, one does wonder how far could a model T be driven with a broken crankshaft? I know, it does depend upon the angle and location of the break, and how well it can push itself only sort of in line.
Glad you got it home okay!
Take care dean!

Keith T, I think Dean is already a member of that club. I, on the other hand (zip!) (uh uh) (don't say it!) (don't jinx it)

Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2

Wayne, With Model T crankshafts, it's not IF, but WHEN it will break.... :-)
