Looking to replace an existing distributor that was apparently "cobbled" (Not my term but I like it) together. It has a serial number, etc, but the plate that has the number has been braised in place and not usable. It would be nice to find tune-up parts for it and test it's performance before replacement, but I can't find anyone who will even touch it. Sooooo, where do I get a replacement? I have called around and everyone says they have them ordered, back-ordered or, well, you know. Finding parts is a problem in general, so if anyone knows a dependable merchant with REAL parts (not just in a catalog) I would appreciate the info.
Most of the T distributor conversions are based on the volksbuggen Bosh type 09 distributor. You can buy whole distributors rebuilt on eBay for under $40.
