Nice Job Bill! Three out the first day, must be a tough route this year!
Thanks for posting Tom. Wish I were there.
What fun it must be. I'm sure Ed Towe and Lew Rector are there in spirit.
Go Fast and Be Safe.
Hey, Milt, gotta step it up. Good luck. Bob
What happened to the three that didn't finish?
So, I have heard : Brandon Langle, lost a rod pulling a pass, Dan Brown, his magneto turned to copper linguini, and Sandy Watt, his Magneto plug broke and all the oil pumped out causing him to lose a rod.
I'm sure Milt will also THANK You for the GOOD LUCK wishes but I heard Milt took a little turn toward the ditch in the median when something came loose. Everything survived but I can imagine Milt will be needing an extra pair of shorts on this trip.
Was lots of strong winds this trip but so much driving with some really fast cars.
I lost a capacitor in a coil yesterday and had to continue another 20 some miles on three cylinders with some big grades over the continental divide. I'm hoping my time should have improved today. Registered a top speed at 72.2 MPH one long down hill just before Tom flew by.
Gene you mean you haven't perfected your on-the-fly 4 coil swap? Lol
Too bad the coilbox not in the cockpit.
Top Ten still aint bad.
Wishing you luck!
Good luck Tom. I hope you have a safe event
Thanks Tom for posting the times. Gene, thanks for the update. Good Luck to all and have a great time.
Tom, Just Curious, How many of the cars use the HCCT to set up their coils? Are any of them in the top 10 cars?

David, I don't know how many of the drivers use the ECCT, but I would wager that all of the top ten cars set their coils with some variation of the time to fire method.
Looks like Milt's problem didn't go away. Is this a record of DNFs? 5 outa 20, is 1/4 of the group!
Y'all be safe out there!!
Come on Gene !!! Pick up the pace!! You got Ralph(rip) rolling. Besides, I got 5 bucks on you !!
Tom, I am very impressed with the performance that all of you demonstrate. Many of us would appreciate an in-depth article in the Vintage Ford about your endeavors. Is there any chance any of you would write such an article? The best of luck to all of you. Thanks so much for posting each days information.
Lots of good stuff here:

Congratulations! 6 time winner.
Can't wait to see some pics!
Good going, Tom! You did it again!
Makes me kinda proud to say that I rode in the winning car a few years back. Gotta say that it was the most smooth running T I've ever seen.
My money is on Mike Stormo, he is a strong finisher. Watch out for him.
Terrific, Tom. Congrats. What car did you run this year ???
Thank you Tom C for the tour reports! And congratulations!
Congratulations Tom for the WIN and a second to Dennis Powers.
I'm back in SurfCity safe and loading up the Torpedo for the trip to the Albuquerque National Tour on Saturday.
Was a really fun and educational trip that more guys should come up to Montana and try out.
Thanks also to all the great flag/starter/time keeper people and especially the Checkered Flag gal cause that was always a great moment to see the flag ending and knowing you completed the race!
Any videos or photos from this year?
How fast do you have to go to average 55 MPH over 500 miles? It's akin to walking a tightrope while juggling five running chain saws. Scary business. Glad no one was hurt!
I bought a '27 roadster, now I just need to start building the drivetrain for it.
I plan to bring my '25 to run along in the Touring class with next year. That car will keep up, but too many things on it aren't "legal" for the timed event.
Last year's video. The answer for how fast, FAST! https://youtu.be/UX0r7WhaF7M
