hello....can anyone supply a picture of original engine pans for an early 1911? how accurate are the repros from the suppliers? i just bought a set of repros and they were not quite the same as to what i removed from the car.
any enlightenment would be appreciated.
The main problem with the repros is they are too big and need to be trimmed. Second problem, they drill the holes on the frame side and those holes are in the wrong places for 1911.
I don't have any originals to show photos of, but they are close to the same appearance.
Let's see what yours look like Stuart.
the area of most concern is the opening for the steering arm and the cup to clear the commutator rod. the one i have has a larger cutout than the repop and the cup is welded or brazed in place and the repop is flanged and spotwelded and not a very good job at that.
the frame holes seem to match up quite well.
Stuart, I have an original early 1911 model t touring car made in February. Still has original engine and trans pans. How can I help you? Cheers, Tom
