Got a invite to enter my 1911 open runabout at the old car festival at Greenfield village. Any of you been entered with a car can give me a heads up on what to
Expect. It's in September. I'm from there and could park my fifth wheel at my sisters about 40 miles
Away. I'm wondering if the cars can be left secure overnight. I'm sure there's no camping on site. Any help?
Richard,There is camping in the parking lot but it only opens after 6 friday night ?? and you must be a participant to camp. Dry camping no fires or hook up.If you haul your car trailer behind your fifth wheel they will park you by the fence where you won't have to back up!!! Parking fill's fast so be there and be ready.Great people will help you!!The trains will wake you up!! Bud.

Best car show in the country. Lots of motorhomes and campers in the large parking lot. Many participants spend the night in their motorhomes. Show begins Sat at 8am and concludes at 9pm Saturday or maybe later with the gas light parade. Sunday starts at 8am and wraps up in the late afternoon.
Expect to drive your car. Last year I put 50 miles on the car driving around the Village grounds. Lots of demonstrations, pass in review, talks and other great activities. Plan on staying a couple of extra days if you want to spend time in the museum or see any of the other motorcity sites.
Oh yes, security is good and many folks leave the cars on the field overnight. Never heard of a problem.
If you have any other questions give me a call.
