How is the brass chimney top of a 13-14 JNo 110 sidelight removed and replaced , thanks

Ed it's soldered in. When I began to look at how these were attached I found the Browns were done a bit differently than the E&J style. It appears that the brass cap was crimped on last. I've made this conclusion by removing just the brass cap by annealing the brass and with a sharp thin flat head screwdriver work my way around the cap and removing it just to see why the Browns were so difficult to remove. Unlike the E&J caps the tabs are folded inward and then soldered then I suppose the cap is crimped on. The E&J tabs face outward and are soldered from the outside. Hope that helps if not give me a buzz and we will talk.
