Painting on this closed cab pickup, I ran out of one color paint. No big deal I'll just buy more. NOPE! Within the last few days they changed brands of paint and do not have the color I need and can't get any. Not even available in the near by towns.

Does that mean it's gonna be a two-tone pick-up? :-)

Yes, you have to buy a lot of stuff online, and you have to drive to a city to see a movie for grownups about something real, and decent restaurants are scarce. But you don't have stop and crawl traffic for several hours a day, and you don't have razor wire wrapped around freeway signs to keep gangbangers from spray painting idiotic crap all over them, and you don't have fast food joints with pay toilets. I'll take the small town (or no town) any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

There are t shirts for sale at our grocery store that say,"Brownsboro where everybody knows your name" Most people also know everybody's middle names too.

I agree with Steve. Small town life is sometimes inconvenient, but I like knowing all my neighbors and them knowing me. If you ever need help, someone around here is always willing to lend a hand. I don't worry about drive-by shootings or riots. I'll sacrifice not living close to a shopping mall for that peace of mind.

Actually all I need to paint is the hood. I do have a little left so may be able to paint the outside of the hood. Later I might find the paint and will be easy to correct this. I am using Massey furgison grey.

Good news, the local store found me another quart of the color I needed at a different store and got it for me.

Unless you're in New York or Los Angeles, the Wal-mart is open 24/7. But they can't sell you beer on Sunday. :-)

No Walmart anywhere near me, but I don't care. There's still plenty of Mom and Pop businesses where I can get fair prices and great service...and yes, beer on Sundays.

Driving to a good sized town you can buy almost anything, but the people in your small town hardware store will sell you what you really need and tell you how to! Even in a small or no town we still have the internet. I needed some burlap to hold a dirt bank from washing out so i called the drain commision to find out where to buy?? No help, and the days of farmers with burlap bags are long gone.I looked on the net and what i wanted will arrive today! Dumb but well intended-Bud.
