Does that rear wheel look like it's leaning?

Right rear is in a hole.

The man is leaning too. Might be lens distortion or maybe the clutch was just engaged,{:0)

They all have the same sad look on their faces. They were all wearing good clothes and perhaps were on the way to a wedding or other event and are now stuck. The man outside might be someone who came along to help them. If they are stuck in a hole, and they all got out, it would make the car lighter and maybe could push it until it could be driven again.
Anyway, I guess we'll never know just exactly what happened.

It's simple - it's a copy of the original photograph. Poor technique caused distortion in the copy. I see this all the time with photos being sold on eBay. It's not the first time we've seen this on the forum.

The person who has the original photograph took a picture of it with their digital camera. They did not take it with their camera lens perfectly parallel to the original photo. Also, the original photo may not be laying perfectly flat.

This distortion could have been alleviated by copying the photo using a flatbed scanner.

What is the tank on the running board?
Looks like it is mounted securely

Definately going to a party.... looks like a giant seltzer bottle! Looks like they could all be related... especially the front passenger, and the 'leaner' outside the car.

Dave,

To add to Tim's reply, yes, it's a Prestolite tank. It's filled with acetylene gas to burn in the headlamps. Prestolite was a name brand.
