I traded for this speedster '65 so I figured it's about time to give it a little attention. Cleaned the points and got the coils firing, cleaned the L-4 and made a temp fuel supply. Cleaned the old New Day timer. The 26 coil box wood looks good and the timer wires are good. The car has a 26 block with an earlier trans and 3 dip pan. I changed the oil a few times over the years and it last ran 5 or ten years ago. With fresh oil and 12 volts got it running good on 3 cyl's. 4 just did not want to go. I did not run it long as it has no water in it. Compression right at 40 on all four with all valves moving good, Hand crank. Moved plugs and coils no help. Even crossed plug wires and timer wires 0n 3 and 4 thinking that it might be in the coil box, no help. Maybe an intake leak, pulled the manifolds and found that someone had welded two of the freeze plugs. The center one I left alone after some grinding, on the front, after a lot of die grinding, taped and screwed a brass plug in and the rear just pressed in a new plug. Replaced the manifolds, used the old gaskets closed the plug gap on 4 and it runs pretty good. Will put some water in tomorrow and try to fine tune the carb.
nice work!
