Ah, those crazy Yellowstone turistas, then and now. I wonder if even Sam Colter fed bear cubs and petted the buffalos? And I wonder if these folks gave a single thought for the mother of these cute "Teddies" ?
Thanks for posting that Rich, I have never seen cubs approaching humans before. Sure would like to know if Momma Bear was around. On second thought I bet cubs were orphans.

Feeding the bears wasn't discouraged originally. Presidents and other officials delighted in being photographed with them. It was the volumes of visitors to the park that caused the problems.
