The stainless steel pipe has two bends and fits much better.

The iron pipe has one bend that is not quite enough.

When I had my exact replacements made, the guy asked me if I wanted stainless, and I replied hell no! Ford didn't use stainless, and neither will I!

William, how will a stainless steel pipe form a coating of rust to look like original? I thought that was the whole idea of using stainless, so it won't rust. What am I missing? Just curious. Dave

It won't do that.

There are many grades, types, alloys, etc. of stainless steel. Used to be that I could use a little magnet when purchasing marine hardware to be sure item was made of stainless steel. Not any more! Nowadays, some stainless is magnetic, and some is not!

Thanks for the tip. Isn't the shipping a little high?

This is a very odd thread. The supposed seller offers little to no information about how to contact him. From his profile, it appears that this is his first post on the forum and that he is from Toledo, Ohio. But even that is suspect, because he mis-spelled Toledo in his profile. ????

Been that way for a long time, 40 years at least, probably longer.

I used to work at a place that made stainless steel kitchen equipment. 440 stainless will rust after time, a long time but maybe quicker if it gets hot? A magnet sticks to it. Sinks and countertops we made from 304 which has more nickel and won't rust. I've got one rusty pipe and one not rusted I don't know which vendor I bought them from. One is 20 something years old and the other 7 so I don't know why one didn't rust. 7 years it still isn't rusty. I asked when I got the job how did stainless rust, I never knew there were different kinds.

Just clicked on the link to his site, and the screen on my IPad went red saying it was a Phishing site. Beware.

Chris, the evidence suggests attempted foul play - please delete this thread and block the OP, thanks.

Ditto what Harold said. We ordered stainless rollers to replace chrome plated rollers on my machine at work and the stainless rusted up much faster than the chrome ones. It also scratched easier. Don
