Hey guys, has any of you who have been there
seen the metal bead that runs vertically up the back of a touring car on both sides.
The pieces that join the rear center panel
to the quarter panels. I don't see them
in any parts catalogues

I believe there is a reproduction made in aluminum. Not sure where to find it, though. I suppose I'm not much help.

Doug - Possibly, but the classifieds section on this site is a surer bet.

Maybe Dan Hatch will see this and be able to help.

The originals ALWAYS fit.

Restoration Supply Company sells it in 8 foot lengths. It's aluminum.

But unfortunately it's not exactly the same size as the originals.

It's on Page 29 of their catalog.

Doug - The ones from langs are for a 26-27 sedan. You're going to have some work to make them fit a earlier touring if that's what you're using them on. I bet that's true even if you're using them on the 26-27 sedan.

My point was to post an ad over on the classified section of this website and try to find originals. In my experience, nearly every reproduction part I've bought has needed some work. The original parts are simply "bolt on".

Doug, Had same problem about four years ago when working on my 24 touring. Contact Mark at Model T Haven in Lola, Kansas. He will probably have it. That's where I got mine and it will fit without any doctoring up or modifications.
