I was raised in a little Texas town and everyone in the county came to town on Saturday to shop and VISIT. Nobody out in the country had phones and TV's were almost unheard of in the early 50's. Nobody headed home 'til real late. All the kids would roam and play while the adults visited. You had ''Saturday'' friends you never saw any other time, everyone lived so far apart. TV killed the town's socialising. Long ago and far far away....
I wonder what was going on? It doesn't look like a parade, yet the many people on the sidewalk are facing the street. What were they looking at?
I looked again and noticed not all are facing the street. Still wonder what was going on? Maybe waiting in a food line? Would this have been depression days?

Really neat that the old photos we see posted have survived that long.
