I need to replace all four inner tubes on my 13. Of course, 30X3 in the front and 30X3 1/2 in the back. I already have all of the brass for the stems, etc. Any recommendations on the tubes? I called one large supplier of antique car tires and they were not of much help. I understand that many of the new tubes do not hold up due to cheap foreign manufacture. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Long story short...call Langs..ask for Steve..tell him you want the EEC type
He'll know what you mean. Trust me!!
Why would your tubes wear out? What you have might better than what you could buy. If they are rubber stems, you could just replace the stems with your brass ones.
Follow Royce's video about how to replace the rubber with metal stems. Some of the older rubber tubes are much better than the new ones I've seen lately
Thank you all for the valuable input. A friend of mine is at Hershey at this time and found 4 new tubes at Lang's booth yesterday. He will be bringing them back to Georgia for me. Ted, I am embarrassed to tell you why I am having tube problems, but suffice it to say it is my stupidity.
Robert,
If that's your biggest error, then you are doing great! We all screw up once in a while.
Ted
Don't even think of buying brass stems tubes. They are ALL WRONG!
