I think I have the exhaust and intake back in place but doing it with two hands took some time. Holding the intake manifold in place while I put the exhaust manifold up to the block/gaskets was tricky. There has to be an easier way than what I did.
Find an extra set of manifold clamps & cut the ear off of two of them - clamp up the intake so your hands are free to hold the exhaust in place.
If you must cut the manifold clamp, use the more common style as the later style are getting harder to come by these days.
Older post on methods.
Simple one is to place two clamps vertical, that will give the support needed.
I have a bunch of both, if anyone needs some.
Get a helper! Three hands will work very well. Two to hold the manifolds and one to tighten the clamps. However, I can do it with two hands. Just have to try a few times.
I just take a Viagra and hold it with well ...you know...that frees up both hands to work on the manifold.
I forgot to say I got the idea from the local nursing home. They give Viagra to all their male tenants at night to keep them from rolling out of bed.
Dan, thanks for your suggestion. Placing two clamps vertical works great. I needed to remove what I had already done and used your suggestion to put it back. Much easier. Thanks for the help.
